My steering column switches are playing up on my cinq. Bad connection possibly due to melting plastic (as the lights are wired through the column)anyhow, took a trip to the local scrap dealers and managed to get a very good condition column stalks, charged me £10, won't be going back to them in the future...so my question is...can you strip the column stalks down, as I have managed to get the whole unit, including the wires (which I have cut from the car at the scrap yard:bang: ) I want to just replace the stalks without the need of cutting the wires on my car?? Any suggestions...I remember Aaron having posted a thread about this or other?

I changed from old style Cinq switches to new style Cinq (Sei) switches.

You would have made life really easy if you just unplugged the multi plug that the Cinq switches have below dash board whcih are covered in grey foam and a tie wrap or tape, and then plugged the news ones in. The old style swithces have lots of spade connectors on it connecting everything to the column, the new style have 3 multi plugs so not interchangeable unless you rewire it all like i did.
