Dear All, Please Help!!!

My insurance company is forcing me to scrap my Limited Edition Michael Schumacher No2000 and I want to put it back on the road.

Last summer a van drove in to my car causing some structural damage which is easy to repair but costly. The insurance company is attempting to force cat "B" because they don't want to pay :bang:

The car was assessed by few garages and they all say its cat "S"

Could someone recommend me a decent and genuine car engineer to write a proper report.

And also any advice is welcome on how can I respond to the insurance company which are simply bullying me

Thank you very much in advance,
Kate.

could you buy the car back from your insurer, and then get it repaired yourself?

Not if it’s a cat B. Car “B” can never be returned to the road and the shell has to be crushed.

Cat S (formally cat C) is structural damage to the frame but could be professionally repaired.

There are two ways to look at it, there is no benefit to the insurance company to force a car to be written off and never returned to the road. The ins Co pay out on a total loss which on a seicento is not going to be more than a few hundred quid, even if the car costs £10,000 to repair they don’t have to pay more than the value of replacing the car.

The garages who claim it’s a Cat S would be looking to bag some over priced work to put the car back together. Also what guarantee do you have that any of these companies would be able to ensure the car is safe.

I seem to recall the seicento was particularly structurally weak and it didn’t take much of a knock to bend the roof, it would be interesting to see what sort of damage we’re talking about?
