Hi

We've got a Cinq radiator from eBay to fit into our Hillman Imp (long story).

Anyway, there are lots of plastic studs protruding with holes in that I'd expect to be used to bolt the radiator in, but none of them are tapped.

Do we need to tap them? Or put self-tappers in? Or is some other method used to secure the radiator to the car?

Thanks-in-advance!

Graham

I wouldn't solid mount the rad by directly screwing or bolting it in. It is likely to fracture. Unless designed not too, most rads are rubber mounted

Right so. Could someone either post me a link to the bushes or give me a photo or two showing how it's mounted in the car? I've had a look on Ebay and YouTube and can't quite get an idea of what's going on.

Thanks!

The bush is p/n 7699194
The bracket is p/n 7699516

Google those and you'll see what it looks like.

The same bush is used on both sides.
In the Cinq, the bracket is only used on one side, the other side going into a hole in the bodywork instead, but you could use the same bracket on both sides as you are fabricating it to fit in something else.

I can't find a reference for what stops the bottom of the rad moving, it may have just sat in a groove.
