Hello @ll!

1st Problem:

I just bought a 1999 Seicento Abarth edition. I noticed on the last Service report under comments the mechanic put "Tyre Sizes??" .
SO I checked the tyres and the front ones are 175/50/R14 and the back ones are 175/60/R14.

Is this bad/ a Problem ?

2nd Problem:

I filled the Screenwash tank yesterday and tested if it was working. Everything ok, got out of the car & noticed that it's pouring out in front of the wheelarch. So I assume a hose detached itself somehow ?

Is it easier to remove/attach the bumper or the wheelarch cover to get to the Screenwash Tank.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

1) Not necessarily a problem I think. They should all be the same size ideally, but I don't see a danger in having 2 tyre sizes front to back. Side to side is a different matter however......................

2) Bumper shouldn't be too difficult to remove, and neither should the wheelarch liner :)

BTW, Welcome to the forum.

Hi and welcome to FF!

Tyres should be the same as the fronts but shouldn't hurt to run them until replacement time, due to the size, availibility and cost are issues to some so they just stick the closest size on which is cheapest.

Is the service report from a Fiat Garage?

Your hose will have perished and fallen off, folks will say snip it off and reattach but the problem only comes back, get some tubing from Halfords or indeed a pet shop and replace the piece affected to whatever valve it comes to. Best to remove the arch liner and wheel to do this, how's your mechanical skills?

Liam

Thanks for the welcome & the quick reply.

No it was not from a Fiat garage.

I'd say my mechanical skills are ok... I never serviced a car before. But I do all the servicing on my bike (Suzuki SV650S).
So I will go the wheel arch liner way... & buy a new tube.

Will the different tyre sizes fail the MOT?

Thanks

I have those tyre sizes on the front and back on my sei and its all fine just looks a bit wierd :D

This is just great!!!

locking wheelnut remover is nowhere to be found in the car.

Will have to take it to the dealer :bang:

This is repaired. My neighbour has a locking wheelnut remover that fit's the Seicento aswell;)

So the Screenwash is no sorted but getting the wheel arch liner off was a pain in the a**. I couldn't replace the broken hose so i just shortened it... It will do for now.

Thanks for your help (y)

Arg!

it happened again.

haven't had time to check it yet if it's the same tube that cracked.
Will replace all tubes.

Does anyone know what size tubes they are ?

Thanks
