Hi I am new to this, so if I go on a bit please excuse me.
We have a 1996 Sporting, owned it from new. Suddenly it starts throwing it's coolant out of the header tank. Found a blockage in the pipe from the header tank to the four way. Replaced all the hoses, fitted new radiator, fan switch, header tank cap and thermostat. Still doing the same, and pressurising the hoses. Did a "sniff test" concluded head gasket was blown. Had head skimmed, new gasket etc. checked water pump (only fitted last August)and changed steel pipe to water pump. Cooling fan is working as it should.
Back filled system through heater hose and blead it twice while warm. Thermostat opened fine and system cooled down. Went back up to running temp and blew water out of header tank.
Now totally baffled!! Any suggestions please?

Need overpressure scenario to blow past the cap..

i have had a bad cap do that before. it was a fairly new cap, but it was cheap.

replaced the cap and it never did it again.

No idea why that got ****ed-up..
