So as we know the Sei only has the red light of doom to say when its too late for your coolant temperature.
So i took a punt on a £18 gizmo that plugs into the OBD socket and can give you all the real time engine readings you need including fault codes.
It has various screen set ups to allow to you display what you want
Seeing the temperature in front of me has give me peace of mind and fits neatly in the cubby.

well, I must say; I had no idea such a thing existed!

I did a gauge back in the day, when I had my Seicento, which was an Alfa 156 centre console gauge, mounted in the driver's-side centre air-vent, and running off a sensor fitted in a blanking plug (/bolt) in the coolant gallery.

It sort of matched the 'Sporting instrumentation, and I got it to backlight on headlights too.

However; It wasn't as elegant as this!

(wonder if that would work in my '07 Panda...)

Does the OBD adapter auto sleep?

If not keep and eye on your battery voltage. I had one plugged into my car that I don'y drive very often and it kept running the battery flat.

Very smart little unit that is.
