Hi. Im kinda new to this forum.
For almost a year i have this little guy, whose giving me a headace for a good while. I've decided to look for problems, and as im on my way to repair it, i stumbled across a filter(?) like box. Its not really a box, it is round and has 2 blue hoes coming out of it. It is located on the driver side(im living in hungary, so its left side) above the tire, fixed with 2 bolts.
My question is, what is the purpose of it? Is it the fuel filter, or something else?
Thanks for reading it, and sorry for my english!

Your English is great and welcome to the forum!

What you have located is the charcoal canister, which is part of the emission control system of the car. The purpose of it is to recirculate (i.e. not vent to atmosphere) fuel vapour and, under timed ECU control, allows this stored vapour to be drawn into the engine to be burned.

Seicento MPIs do not have a fuel filter per se; only a strainer that is built into the fuel pump which itself resides in the fuel tank.

What problems are you facing with the car? If you describe the symptoms, forum members may be able to give targeted guidance on what to try, or test further.

Sorry for the late reply, thought i hit the send button...

The main problem with the car was, that it ran rough. Idle rpm was dropping below 800, stuttered on high engine load, etc. I thought the problem was big, but it was actually the spark plugs being old. I changed them, and its now as good as new, tho sometimes it's still running rough. I will change the leads as well, because they look old too. I'll also clean the fuel filter some time, if i find it necessary.
The other problem i have, is the heater unit wont blow hot air. I bled the air out of the system multiple times, but the problem remains. My coolant always disappears, but i cant find where it goes. Might be head gasket not sealing, as white gas comes out of the exhaust on startup.
And on sunny days, the radiator vent kicks in pretty fast, and the engine gets pretty hot, maybe after a 5km run in the city. And then, it blows hot air

I always browse this forum for answers, but this heater problem is driving me nuts. I hope someone can help me with it too.
Thanks for reading, and sorry for typos.

You need to find where the water is going as that can cause more problems.

possibly pressure test the system.

Cheers

D

And how much pressure does the pipes can handle? Can it be the 1.4 bar (not sure, not at the car right now) that is on the coolant reservoir cap?
And where shoud i connect to the system?
