Hello all,

A week or so ago I posted about my rear indicator playing up and some nice fellow suggested spraying it with WD40. ((https://www.fiatforum.com/showthread.php?t=46285) )

This worked a treat.... for a few days. Now every few days I have to remove the rear light cover wiggle the bulb around and spray the bulb holder with some more WD40 then its ok for a few more days. Ocassionaly when its very cold in the morning it will misbehave (ie flash intermittently) if its used in the first ten minutes of driving.

However on Friday it didn't work again till the bulb was taken out and put back in again, despite WD40 everywhere! I have changed the bulb several times also.

So, does it sound like there is some moisture getting in, or the acutal bulb holder/contacts is faulty. Do you think replacing it with one from a scrappy might make a difference. The brake light and fog light work fine.

Make sure, with the power turned off, that the ring round the bulb is fairly tight to the bulb, and that the spring/s at the bottom are connecting strongly enough with the bulb. If the bulb is a loose fit moisture will get between it and the holder.

Cheers

D

Thanks for that, I think the bulb is a bit looser compared to its left hand side companion. It turns quite easily and doesn't always feel "right down".

So, down to the scrappy at the weekend to get another holder?

Thanks for replies and sorry for delay in response.

I left the right indicator on when I took the rear cover off and twisting/pushing the bulb slightly whislt live seemed to solve it... Till the next cold morning.

The bulb is looser than its left hand side counterpart, might just replace the bulb holder. Unless someone more technically minded knows...
