hi,just a quick one.

ive been offered lancia beta coupe 14' alloys.

has anyone fitted these to a cinq or sei?

the set ive been are in good nick,and cheap.

the same chap also has a set of ritmo/strada abarth alloys in 14'. they look like croma wheels but are 130tc wheels,not in such good condition:(.

just intrested to know,off set,tyre size to make them fit cinq/sei.

and any pictures of them on a car.

thanks

The short version of the simple answer is "Yes".

The longer version of the simple answer is "Yes.. each car uses a 4x98PCD wheel with a 58.1mm bore, so the wheel will physically fit on the car.

But there's the longer version of the more complicated answer to think about;

Lancia Beta wheels in 14" are probably offset @ 34 - 36mm which is close enough to the Cinq's 37mm that it makes no difference. The Beta wheels are going to be 5.5 or 6 inches wide (they'll be stamped 5.5J or 6.0J etc.) so they're wider than the Cinq's wheels at 4.5 inches.

The wheels will sit 3mm to 1mm respectively further "in" the arch but since they're 1" wider (5.5) or 1.5" (6.0) wider, the rim will be 0.5" (12.5mm) or 0.75" (18mm) wider on each side. If your suspension is closer than 18mm to the existing rim, it'll foul.. but usually/I'll assume you have several inches of clearance.

The tyre is the problem. The Cinq tyre (165/65x13) is equivalent to a 175/55x14 or a 185/50x14 tyre. You need a 175 or 185 tyre for the 5.5/6.0" rim. Check you can find tyres that size and how much they cost. Goodyear do an Effigrip in 175/55x14 but there aren't many alternatives. 185/50x14 you can get a Yokohama A539 which looks like a cut slick and probably wears like one. Have a good check it out. You should fit the 175/55 if you have 5.5" wheels (though these would also fit on the 6.0" wide) and 185/50 if you have a 6.0" rim (these will fit on a 5.5" wide rim but will look saggy, like they're punctured).

You'll have two other options; first to fit a 185/60x14 which gives you more tyre options but might not look great ("balloon tyre"), it might foul the arch/suspension and it will change the gearing of the car... OR stuff a 165/55x14 onto the 5.5" rim (I doubt it will go onto a 6.0") and have it looking "stretched" (which could look quite good though).

I'd say borrow a wheel and fit it to the car (front is the tightest for space). Then get a tape measure out. If you're going for a 185/60x14 tyre, work out how much bigger each tyre (not the wheel) will be and then try to imagine how big it will look inside your arch. Don't get a tyre that is less than an inch from the suspension upright or the spring pan.. .and make sure you turn the wheel from lock to lock and measure where the tyre rim will be as it passes your bumper.

You won't have tyre supply problems in future if you can track down a factory that only makes 175/55x14 (for 5.5" wheels) or 185/50x14 (for 6.0" wide wheels) and they promise you a lifetime supply. Otherwise, a stramge size (like the Sporting 165/60x13 may become more and more difficult/expensive in future).

Ritmo wheel faces the same issues.. but it has potentially a bigger offset (it could be c.ET45) so the wheel would be a whole 1cm further "in" the arch). The issue with that would be the tyre fouling the suspension strut... so if you go Ritmo, check the wheel offset (some Ritmo wheels are 37mm) and if it's the ET45 then check how much clearance you would have with the 175 or 185 tyre, as above.
