Hi,
has anyone changed the camshaft in their sei sporting and is it really woth doing? The only engine mods on my sporting are a K and N induction kit and NGK platinum plugs with magnecor leads.
Cheers

Think you can upgrade to a punto 75 camshaft but im only going on memory and what ive read on here, it is beneficial i believe

And Tricker are your numbers on a 1242 lump? Cos they seem through the roof for a 1.1.
In our club in Denmark we have a 1108cc Seicento SPI running 80,5 Hp on a 268 degree C&B cam, K&N, 40mm TB, CSC exhaust manifold and re-map
The engine is (beside the changes above) completely standart.
Standard flywheel.
Standard compression ratio
Standart cylinderhead

And so on...

Tricker when you fitted your 280 cam did you need to change the shims?
Yes, the shims were changed when i fitted the 280 degree cam. It's not really a big story changing the shims. Just fit the new cam in the head and get the head to a mechanic and let him do it for you - will take him ½ an hour to get it right.

Yeah just wanted to check on that will just leave my car with the garage for the afternoon :)

Sweet.
Will it be the same for an MPI engine performance wise as an SPI?
Novitec do a 276 degree cam or would the Colombo & Bariani 268 be better as its for middle range torque compared to the power at higher rpm of the 280?

cheers
