Hello, after draining the old fluid and changing the brake lines the rear brakes wont bleed. No braking fluid seems to be getting passed the valves for the brake compensators, the rear brakes were working well before changing the lines so I assume all the parts are working and its just something that I am doing wrong. Has anyone got any ideas ?
Thanks
Note: The car ISN'T jacked up in a way that would make the brake compensator valves close.

Test pedal with rear flexis clamped, if you get a stiffer pedal, it will be an issue past the flexis, i.e. pipe or even rear cylinders, if not, likely to be issue with rear compensators or master cylinder, go from back to front and try to eliminate each step in the lines (including joins) as there may even be a small leak somewhere

How are you puching fluid through?

In a system thst has seen internal decay.. you may have a blockage :(

both cylinders are changed 2 years ago, lines are also brand new, and the brakes were working perfectly fine before draining the old fluid out so I have no idea

Thats what I did but fluid started dripping only from the fronts, the compensator valves should be normally open and let fluid through when there is no pressure applied but they dont seem to.... I will try reassembling the one that is off the car and just pump some air from the feed hole to see if anything comes from the exit

UPDATE: After taking appart one of the compensator valves and putting it back together it now works. Took appart the other one and a big rubber seal in there was ripped to peices and blocking the hole I think so I am ordering a new one. Still can't understand why both valves were stuck shut after draining the fluid, I am 100% sure that it is the valves which stop the fluid because I disconnected the exit line of them and there was no fluid coming out of the valve at all. Anyway, one fixed, one to go

So new valves arrived today and it all works :D changed both of them, might as well. The cheapeast ones I could find for a cinq were 40 quid each so I got panda ones and they fit, hopefully they close at the same pressure etc but I can't imagine them being much different.

Well done, brakes tend to make you wonder now & then... what the hell is going on, but investigation & a matter of elimination, you do tend to find the problem in the end. Back in the early 70's brakes & more brakes was my job as an apprentice. Even for the novice it's not that difficult a job. As a last resort when things are seized or knackered, just fit new parts.(y)
