Hellooo,

I want to put power steering in my Seicento Abarth. Is this possible with parts of a Seicento with OEM power steering? It is electrical right? So should be easier then hydraulic power steering. Is there maybe already a wire preparation? Has someone maybe done this?

Thanks!

Can be done, it is electric.

You will need the rack the ECU and the car loom. You need to attach it to the speed sensor as well.

The rack on the powered ones is a different ratio and the top mounts are different giving a stronger caster angle.

If you fit the EPAS with the non EPAS rack and top mounts it will be very skittish and light.

Main question...why do you want to do this?

Because it is always nicer to have a lighter steering wheel, and if it is not too much work, i’d like to accept the challange.

Is there any wire preperation in the car already? Or do I have to put new wires in the car?

Good question.

I fitted Sei EPAS to a Cinq so there was definitely no wiring in place.

Have a look under the column. The wires will be very thick.

Shouldn't the Abarth already have EPAS? I thought it was on all Seicentos as standard and it was only the Cinq that didn't have it as standard

Not all sei's are PAS, some of the really early ones in the UK are nonPAS, driven a couple over the years. But its pretty rare in the UK for it to not have it.
