Motor factors has plenty short ones :( But can get me one for Tomorrow :) Yes they also confirm its the longer cable. Thank you curtisjwc1 (y)

Nowhere near as difficult as it reads. Worst part was trying to hook the hook back into the end of the clutch rod as its to close to bulkhead, wheel arch and ECU mount. Having large hands dont help but all done.

Must have been some sort of metal fatigue it the cable had not snapped it was the metal hook.

You’ll be doing that again, then!

The hook is designed to snap to prevent damage elsewhere. If it has snapped, you need to start looking for a reason further down the chain. In my case, I PT was a knackered thrust bearing.

:yeahthat: Cable failure is a symptom, rather than a cause. Get a clutch kit.

Surely if it was snapping metal then i would have a heavy clutch. Its just as soft and smooth than ever. Anyway its juts used is a town car now and i live in a small town so if it goes again ill just order up a kit.

Simply go to euro car parts and type in your registration number as you use their search. the system will work it out for you.

It came back with both hence asking. I would have ended up buying the two and taking the wrong one back but i am miles away from one. As it happens the motor factors i used came in at almost half the price of Euro Car Parts.

Had same problem , involved lot of bus journeys till right one was supplied. Originally Ricambio of Wallington Surrey supplied me incorrectly a Sporting cable when my Sei was an S model.. on their web site they say their "ring" end is a lot stronger than the original 90 degree bend.. I believed it , went up to South London, purchased, 2 hours plus bus journey down to Sussex where it had expired to find out the "S" was a shorter cable ( thanks to Thames Fiat of Slough on the phone ) . Ricambio sent me by courier and more expensive as it wasnt their stock item the correct cable for my 02 "S".. fitted it, new split pin cos maybe that was the cause of the original pulling out of the fitting.. used white grease ( aerosol) to lube it. Job done ( plus 20 or so miles to return the incorrect cable to Ricambio ).. end result " one Happy Seicento owner ! "
