Guys

i need your advice /Help

i have been busy fooling around with installing a Water temp gauge

to get started i have done things the opposite way around , i start with the
gauge/wiring etc and i still have to install my sensor between the upper hose to
the radiator ( waiting on the paraflu up to arrive before i tackle that)

now just to give an idea , i have already installed a tachometer and connected these wire into the Plug/switch from the light switch ( light knob )
this works perfect , got 3 wires , black , red an white , all are easy to fix in .

now for my temp gauge ( Its a Autogauge ), i have 4 wires , red , white , black and orange
now the red , white and black wires , i know where they are going , only the orange is meant for the dimmer ,
i have installed all the wires except orange , when i turn on my cinquey , and i turn the lights on , the gauge works , only its flashing on and off ,
now my commonsense is telling me this isnt correct , where have i gone wrong
or will this be fixed when i install the wiring to the sensor

hope one of you guys can give me some advice /help
cheers

right for the mod , you can close this thread if you like .

i found the problem , i attached the sensor probes wiring to the other connection and hey presto it worked ,
quick fix and i worked it out myself , even if i feel alittle stupid about it .
heres a foto out the work

Hi Deef-

by 'flashing on & off' do you mean a regular 'timed' flashing?

It could be some kind of functionality within the unit to indicate the lack of a reference voltage input (no sensor yet) or maybe I'm overthinking it!

Is it flickering?

Classically you have a positive & negative reference, a sensor input (which is relative the negative through chassis bond)

and a voltage feed for night illumination, which is also a positive

Did you read the 2nd post? It's sorted :)
