I've no idea what it looks like inside as the public are not allowed on

Need to have her at Liverpool docks by next Friday and then she sails on the 1St May to arrive New York on the 9th. I hope to pick it up on the 19th

Well... This is going well

Was on my way down the M6 to Liverpool on its first part of the journey to the US and think it's a suspect head gasket

Not a great start, I have a head if you need one.

They are taking the head off today at the Station Garage in Staveley

We have a a deadline of Fri to get the car to the docks or it won't be there on time to get to the states

If it's warped, I might need to take advantage of your kind offer of head in a hurry, eeek

Have you reason to suspect a warped-head?

Just started overheating on the M6 and venting coolant which caused a lot of steam

Going up to the garage now to see how it's getting on

Likely to be an effect rather than a cause.

Check the radiator has its fins and isn't full of cack.

Is that Staveley in the south Lakes?

I am about 3/4 of an hour away if need be.

Thanks for getting back to me, it's been a tad stressful lol

Seems we got away with no damage to the head and a new gasket should be here at around 3pm so I'm a bit behind schedule but we should still make it to NYC in time

Just Practical Classics are meeting me on the other side to cover the trip and if we couldn't get to Liverpool by Friday at 4pm I would be "That Guy" who messed everyone's plans up

Put a radiator in it while its there.

Unfortunately time is against us

I'd be taking one as hand luggage to the states and changing it before going anywhere.

Also, get the garage to check the fan is working by shorting out the rad switch, they can seize up.
