Where has the market for Cinq Sportings reached?

What are people prepared to pay for complete cars needing work?

Do people want to work on them or only buy 'no work needed' which usually turns out to be untrue but gets them out the door

MOT helps but does previous maintenance up to that point help?

I'm trying to sell one without stripping it for parts but so far no-one seems too bothered

its a very niche car and not really old enough to be in the "classic" stage yet.

its at the turning point where they are not going to be worth any less, but i would imagine it will be another 10 years before people start to get interested in them and the prices climb.

most people who would buy a cinq either know what they are buying as they specifically want one, just want a cheap car or want an inbetweeners car for a laugh.

i got mine as i have a genuine interest in them. it was the dodgiest garage you have ever seen and i didnt really care about the history. as long as it wasnt declared a write-off i wasnt fussed as i had inspected it and it was a decent one.
i now have enough reciepts for money spent that i could have probably bought a new fiat 500 abarth, but where is the fun in that!

Hi James
There are only 210 sporting left on the road and about 500 SORN
before getting mine for £1750 with a full paint job and some service history from an enthusiast Collector I went to see another one in mint condition (broom yellow) for £1200, after few months I checked again the MOT history and find out it was decorated SORN ( still 5 months mot left)
Another one (Imola blue) was for sale on eBay for around 1600/1700 it was sold instantly and I didn’t even received a reply to my offer to buy it cash
I got my Imola blue in good condition and totally original that’s why I was interested
I searched original parts in Italy and already spent £850! I’m getting an original Abarth steering wheel from 1997 for £300!
I think most cinq sporting have been “abused” with modification and even turbo kit!
If yours had a full mot I will be prepared to pay around £700
There is a yellow one currently on eBay for £995 and in very good condition
At the last 2 Italian meeting mine was the only cinquecento
If I was going to sell it as it is, completely original and well look after I will probably ask for 3k, it may be a lot but they are getting very rare in mint condition

Thanks,

i think these thoughts back up mine in that not that many people want them but (hopefully) someone who does will see it and buy it

It's probably a case of getting it seen by the right people

I've tried here, Retro-Rides and ebay

Any other free-to-list sites?

i could try Gumtree i suppose

Def try Guntree, I sold another black cinquecento there in 2 days
Also try Shpock! Free to list
I saw your ad on EBay and for the money you ask for it in my opinion is a bargain
We know the history of the car so I think it could be made “nearly perfect” without a huge amount of money... if only I had the space!
