I am trying to get the blue cable KKL VAG COM interface cable to connect but it won't. I have taken it apart and found that 2 wires have become desoldered.

Does anyone know or have a picture of how they should be wired please.

Is it a Chinese clone? If so I can send on the pin out of mine. I've tested it to connect to the ECU and is working fine.

Here is a few pictures of mine. It wasn't easy to get a clear picture but I hope this is some help to you. Also I had trouble with drivers. The ones provided on disk were the complete wrong ones. I ended up getting the correct ones by reading the chip model number on the circuit board.

Thanks for taking the effort to post those photos and meant to get back sooner.

Mine is different and all but one wire has come off now so am completely lost - see photo.

I have tried a new cable from Gendan who said it would work but it doesn't. Something is at fault somewhere since all the cables I have tried don't work. Thought is might be my Lappy so did a fresh install of Windows but no difference. Maybe the car but don't know where to start. On starting all the icons come up and all go off apart from the airbag once running.

What software are you using?
At the cost of a new cable on ebay it's hardly worth spending time on the broken one. To fix it you would have to trace the wires back to the components on the PCB, look at the component data sheets and try to deduce the functions.

Unfortunatly there is little commonality between units so it's unlikely anyone can say the X colour wire goes to pin N.

The reason was I was hoping to modify by joining pins as suggested elsewhere on this forum.

The one shown was a cheapy which did not work. Have since had 3 from Uk-Diagostics and 1 from Gendan. All said they should work. They can't all be faulty so the problem must be elsewhere but not sure now where to look.

As supplied or in instructions.

No other vehicles suitable for trying

Thanks to everyone for their help here. Just thought I would update this.

I have now resolved the problem and managed to clear the faults on the airbag.

I got a new interface from Gendan (https://www.gendan.co.uk/index.php) which initially did not work but they gave me a lot of time on the phone to talk through the problem (very helpful and willing to help. Well worth patronising). Didn't initially solve it but they gave me enough help to localise the fault.

It turns out it was the OBD2 socket at fault. Although all the pins checked out on the meter when plugging in it did not make contact with the plug.

I found I had old type 3 pin plug. Cut the lead off an old OBD2 plug and soldered a lead to pin 7 (K line) and connect to the pin on the 3 pin plug. Earth and power direct to the battery and eureka. Had to use the red connector in line.

Hope this may help someone.
