Cinquecento Sporting 1997 SPI. Running issues.

Hi Problems start after the head gasket went and overheated, which was replaced complete with new water pump and cam belt, since then it will start with no problem, idle hunts a little when cold, when up to running temperature the idle sometime can be okay but most of the time is hunting between approx 500 to 2000rpm or can stay about 1200rpm, when driving you sometimes get a loss of power followed by a surge of power with the odd miss fire, on overrun a popping but not a banging can be heard from the exhaust with sometime a smell of fuel, odd times the engine will stall for no reason when slowing down or stopping but start up straight away. I have checked for vacuum leaks and the cam belt timing marks, at a loss for ideas. Help Please to keep the old girl running. :bang:

Have you checked or replaced the krankshaft sensor already ? This usually gives these complaints with warmer engine.

Thanks for the feedback I will check all these out at the weekend
