Has anyone come up with a replacement or solution to the cardboard bulkhead cowling that stretches the width of the car behind the suspension turrets.
Mine is slowly disintegrating.

i could do with a replacement set. mine have been eaten by mice :(

do fiat still sell them? i know toyota pricing for random bits like that can surprise you.

They're a fairly simple group of components to remove in theory, however, the clips/screws on mine were so badly rusted, I had a terrible time removing them.
Especially the ones around the heater hoses. The nut half of the fastening is clipped to the cardboard, so it doesn't take much resistance on the thread before it rips out.

I have started on the process of fixing the problem. Having doped the fabric liner on the front of both pieces and then stripping off the old knackered sound deadening and cardboard backing I am now in the process of reinforcing it with glass.
Ultimately I will recover with dynamat dynaliner and then refit.
All in all it'll take about 10hrs in total. There must be an easier way.....

There is a guy on one of the fb pages that was making them recently out of fiberglass painted to a colour of your choice

Finally got the cowling finished, worked out pretty well, fits a treat and should last an age.

I didn't forget the small one behind the battery. I had to rebuild the corner piece as it was shot to pieces.

Great job you have done there. Love the custom front brace and admire your attention to detail [emoji106]

did you just fibreglass it to strengthen it? then what did you do, get it flocked or cover it with carpet?
looks really good. mine is actually undamaged structurally, just the covering has been chewed by mice :(

I doped the original fabric with fibre glass resin to give it rigidity and then when it was stiff carefully pulled off the rubber and cardboard backing. You don't need to get all the cardboard off as it is that weird fibrous stuff that'll dope up fine when you do the next bit.
Then I layered it with glass fibre on the reverse side. So in essence you end up with just the fabric layered onto glass fibre.
Then I trimmed the whole lot with Dynamat Dynaliner 1/8". This is an amazing product. I measured the db levels and there is a noticeable reduction compared to the old heavy rubber junk Fiat fitted.
It worked out really well just seriously time consuming.
