I'm thinking about taking my little cinq down to the south devon coast (bearing in mind I only live in Bristol!) What are cinquecentos like on motorways or long distance driving? Are there any common problems? I don't wanna tempt fate but they're not errr the most reliable of cars! Does anyone regularly drive their's on motorways? Whenever i drive at about 70-80 mph the engine is quite noisy (this is compared to my dads vw passat though!)Is it "do-able"?! Any comments would be great
Cheers
Matt

Of course it can do 70-80 not a problem some times a struggle up hill, fiat engines have also been revving to get what you want out of them. Should do no harm

I do a 100 mile round trip between uni and home every weekend for work- averaging about 80. Its good and noisy and if yu push it it'll go to 90!!

Arse

PS-Its an 899!!:D

Ill think of something witty....just wait and see............wait I might not.

Even MY cinq managed a 350 mile round trip from cornwall to bournemouth! The seats are amazingly comfortable for motorway driving, i didn't get saddle sore once! Shame the clutch cable decided it would crack and stretch tho :)

Cinq owner, Punto on the way!

maybe you should try a short test trip.i took my new cinq out on the motorway the other day and she got quite hot 100 c + !!! and that was just cruising ive done a full service so im guessing the radiator could to with replacing in the near future

mmmmmm custard coloured cinq

mine did a 2hour trip (motorways) avg bout 90mph (was in convoy with a Audi S4 avant [:p]) with knackered thermostat [:p] (should really get that fixed... got one to go in, just need 2 get it in somehow, presumably it needs to go in same place as previous one other than in boot [:p]

Cinquecento Sporting,
and yes it is indeed Broom Yellow \o/

derby to torquay 500 mile round trip
derby to bournmouth 480 mile round trip
derby to blackpool 240 mile round trip
plus plenty more trips out and touch wood no trouble yet.
keep it at 80 and its alright only moan comes from them in the back ha ha ha.

got a cinq

I sometimes get a back ache, but if you saw my 'rather bodged' frontseat, you'd understand :) Saying that, doing 80mph makes the steering wheel rattle like hell, gives you an arm ache! My steering wheel is badly worn, and you get little black bits stuck to your palms on long hauls [xx(]

i rember doing that with a friend in his company car with company petrol cos we couldnt afford the £10something to post a part to someone hehe

Cinq Sporting - and yes, its broom yellow!

I will do when my finances are sorted :D All 4 (standard) alloys have got 10 gram weights on the side, so i've always suspected my car was (and still is ;)) a thrash-mobile

I have the pleasure of a duel carrigeway journey every day to work. Its fine going along at 60 - 70 but 80 gets a bit loud.
