hi ladys and gents.

bit of a daft one here, but intresting also.

who has the lowest mileage seicento on the site??

where is the lowest known seicento??

i start this thread,as i came across a 2000 seicento s in red,very fresh condition with 6492miles on it(y)

im here in ireland, and there is currently a 2000 seicento in light blue with 4182miles on the clock with a asking price of 1500euros.

the above car has been up on the net for over a month with no takers, surely its worth the asking being vertualy a new car?? or it has to be worth it as a futre investment.

i know you are all going to say its to new,and it wont be for another 20yrs before its worh a few bob.

the little red car i was offered is going for a mere 500euro,a steal:)

so here is the question, buy it and use it,buy it and use it on dry days and sundays,or just buy it and put it in moth balls???

id be intrested in everyones input, and intrested in other low milage seicentos out there both in the club and outside club.

the red seicento i know of has orignal tyres, serviced 6 times in service book, plastic still on rear seats etc always garaged(y)

is the other car i mentioned with 4k on the clock worth buying?? its a sx model.

i know if they were sportings they would be worth double whats been asked, are the lower models worth keeping.

thanks in advance:cool:

Personally, I'd buy the little red thing .. the difference in mileage between the 2 cars you're talking about is negligible. If the little red thing is rust free, well why not?

Don't put it in mothballs. Low mileage cars often throw up numerous problems simply because they're low mileage. Things have seized/become stuck .. and they also throw up all sorts of electrical gremlins.

Use it and run it at weekends until you're confident that all is ok. You need to run a car to find out what faults it may throw up. That's when you find that rubber bushes have become soft with age/standing .. and on a 17 year old car you won't be travelling at speed on those tyres, even if they look fine... The tyres will need to be replaced because of their age.

Run it and sort it out as you go. The current value or the future value of the car is irrelevant. If you want the car ... well ...

hi thanks for the responce. the question was more about who and where are the lowest mileage sei/cinq,not about me buying one:) i just came across the low mileage cars mentioned.

the main mission of the thread was to find out what other low mileage sei and cinq there are out there.

im well versed with old cars and the dramas they throw up:)

ive a good few little fiats along with classic bmw's saab's and range rovers, and the latter do rust.

bought the red car yesterday anyway, very smart little thing. add it to the others i have.

so the aim of the thread was,is it worth keeping a low mileage sei,or just use it.

and what other low mileage little fiats are out there

Where is the lowest known Seicento??

I start this thread, as I came across a 2000 Seicento S in red, very fresh condition with 6492 miles on it. (y)

Purchased the Little Red Shed (2003 1.1 Active) in July with 6474 miles on the clock.
Here's the original eBay link (from April): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112348560977
Not quite the red Sporting I was looking for, but I'm remedying that at the moment. ;)

You are bidding on a Fiat Seicento 1.1 Active in Red.

I am listing this car on behalf of a friend. It has covered just 6474 miles from new all of which was done by its one elderly pevious owner.
It is in amazing original condition, the spare wheel and jack have never been used, the back seat has never been sat in, it even still has its original Caledonia Fiat dealer air freshener and floor mats! It has full Fiat service history (it was last serviced only a few miles before it was laid up) and all receipts and paperwork are present.
As you'd expect the car has stood for much of its 14 year life, most of this has been in a garage until a few years ago when it was parked on a driveway, so in preparation for sale it has had 4 brand new tyres, a new battery and new wiper blades. It drives perfectly, the engine runs like clockwork and wants for nothing, the engine oil is still a golden colour! It also has an 11 month MOT.

This would make an ideal first car or would even suit a collector, I have yet to see another Fiat Seicento for sale anywhere in such good condition or with mileage as low as this!

Viewings are welcome, any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!

Since then, the seller (a qualified mechanic) had also fitted new discs, pads and rear shoes - and at my behest, before purchasing it: a new cambelt and tensioner.

Low mileage cars often throw up numerous problems simply because they're low mileage...

It may have been standing a few years, but no problems to date. Drives like new - just doesn't roll / understeer anymore. :)

PS - @ the OP: Is your Caps key broken?

Sportings are always going to be more desirable but collectors who want a super low mielage cars probably won't want to drive them so base model would be ok.

Look how quickly cinquecentos have vanished!

I think they will be worth a lot more before too long. Look at the future we are faced with.... Electric and self driving cars... new hydrocarbon fueled cars banned by 2040... its not looking good. Surely people will want affordable and practical fun cars?

hi lads, good to see this post still alive:)

if were going for high milage's ive a 00 seicento sporting i got for taking away,it had been left in the corner of a golf club car park. found the keys in it,fresh battery and away she went.

its speedo is showing just on 183,000 miles!! sounds as sweet as a nut.

ive applied for v5/taxbook,so i should get the engine number,il see if it will match the engine in it(y)

keep up the low milages, and throw in a few high one's.

I've just bought my daughter a 22000 mile w reg sciento 900cc engine but having trouble with it not reving !!!

Looks like we were all well beaten by this red Sporting with 880 miles on the clock.

The asking price (now deleted) was £2995, which I thought was a tad optimistic. Listing ended by the seller earlier today. I was going to post a link before, but wasn't sure about the rules. Then I saw the seller had already started his own thread.

I must admit I thought about it, because 'Lil Red Red' is getting on a bit now, with nearly 9.5K miles on the clock. :p But Ayr was really to far to go, to try and haggle the price down and return empty handed. Plus I'm not too keen on the red / blue trim combo', personally. (n)

Anyway, good luck to whoever bought it. ;)

We bought our sei sporting through a forum ad.
Straight. Tidy and honest

Had @46k showing.
Seller stated it should be higher.. but when original battery died.. the mileage dropped.

Its dropped twice since.. currently at 29k..

I had been concerned it was a sign of major issues. But it has been great..

MOT testers have queried it.. but not been an issue. Strangely MES finds the mileage as being @70k .. so probably about right.

Doesnt seem anywhere near as quick as our old cinq sporting.. but it is obviously lugging around a load more gadgetry.

What would you do with that?

I don't think a standard Sei. Sporting has the same appeal as a Cinq. Sporting - the Cinq. will appreciate much sooner than the Sei will and I believe will always be worth more.

If it were a Schumacher, I may have been tempted to haggle on it - because these are, in my opinion, a sure-fire investment.

But you're still back to - what do you do with it? - if you use it, it loses its value and they're not pretty enough to stick in a museum!
