That left hand combustion chamber looks like its had something through it!
Where abouts in the lakes are you D?
It has had a washer or something in it. The marks aren't very deep and there is one tiny scratch in the bore but above the ring line.
Plenty compression in 4 so I am leaving it.
I am in Matterdale, why?

Rocker gear all reassembled on the bench, but I found a full set of brand new hydraulic tappets for £20, so they are on their way. Might as well for that price.
Aquablasted the rocker cover and painted VHT red, it will soon be a Cinq Testarossa!!!

Complete set of new tappets obtained (very cheaply). Now fitted to the rockers and the rocker shaft refitted.
Now to prime and preload them.

Rocker cover on, back into the house to warm up.
TB fitted, back into the house to warm up.
Tonight, plumb the TB.

Running on 4 quite smoothly.
I'll pop the rocker cover off at the weekend and reset the tappets now they have some oil through them.
I wonder if I can get it through an MOT????

Up and down the driveway last night.
Slightly draggy left rear brake, it will be a seized actuator, so that will be attacked in the normal manner.
Otherwise (touches wood) everything else works. All the lights, heater, wipers, washers all functional.

Well, quite a wait for an update.
Having got the car running beautifully, it lasted about an hour and threw another wobbler.
I was ever so slightly peed off, so it was put at the back of the shed until I could go through it again.
A parts cannon had been fired and there were so many bits not quite correctly fitted that I had to go through every sensor and check nominals, rewire some, reconnect others to the correct connection.
Been up and down the driveway today.
Back brakes to do, and now the washers don't work, but everything else still does.
This car will not beat me.

ECU learning slowly.
Think I have a wee air leak as its idling too high. The rocker cover bolts seem to have bottomed out, so I'll get some shorter ones and try that.
Then ball pien hammer and cornflake packet for the TB.

16mm bolts have tightened up the rocker cover nicely.

No wear lip on drum, seized actuator (of course)
Drum retaining bolts loose!!
Cleaned up for now, shoes off tonight.

ah thats familiar, i wonder how many of them i have cleaned up over the years.. a lot lol
Why they didnt fit a brass bush at the hinge pin is beyond me.
