Technical Gearbox change/clutch?

how hard is it to do? just had the offer of a cinq that needs these, they are provided.. wondered how long it takes??
Please help asap as i have first approval of the car...

Should be possible in 4 hours, but for a first time, probably 6 would be a better target.

Get it lose is not to difficult.
Get it on could be a small disaster. Sometimes the gearbox shaft won't get in the Clutch plate.

Get some friend to help. The box is quite heavy and it isn't a nice working space.

My gear box is coming off tomorrow .

Ive done all the preliminary loosening and removal of everything except the bellhousing bolts, enmgine mounts and the hub nuts in under 2 hours....

But yes, the gearbox is heavy (33kg in a 600 x 300x 300 package)...so a support or a person to help heft it out is definately recommended...dropping it on your face isn't preferable.

Clutch change takes 5-10mins with the G/B off...just use a clutch alignment tool as it prevents lots of problems if the shaft wont go into the clutch plate!
