*UPDATE*

Wel I was let down by the person making my manifold spacer so rather than putting the 1242 swap off I just used the standard manifold


Started at bout 9ish and byt 10:30 had one engine out and the other one in buy 12:eek:o after a few cups of tea :D

After all the fiddly bits an gettin soaked had it running by 4ish so stuck the alternator belt and radiator etc back on....

And then it happend the timing is out somehow very confused as it started fine earlier :eek:

Anyway will stick loads of pics up on monday :D

The zorst spacer - can you make a thin cardboard template of what it looks like and take it to any engineering shop - I'm sure they could knock you one out.

Well they have said to me they should have it done by monday but if not will definately go elsewhere (n)
 
Right car nearly finished just need to fit new manifold, de-Cat and whack the ICE in so here's the pics :D

Is that your old man helping you "cheat" to put the lump in Jamie? LOL

Jay! Get those harness mounting points moved backwards ASAP!

The FIA Recommendation is no less than 45 degrees between the angle of the harness and the horizontal...eg: the same distance down as backwards.

Id guess that you have maybe 1-2 degrees at most there :(. I wouldnt wanna be in that if you were to tree it or something, the mounting plate would fail instead of the bolt...possibly not a pretty sight!!
