Hi, guys.

TL;DR

Have I got the hang of this? Is I gud at teh electrix?

SPI injector: 1.75 Ohm
DET3 Power Out max: 5A

Ohm's Law within a (wide) range of 11-15V:

A 10 Ohm/25W resistor is the way to go.

For those just chillin' and readin' this Sunday evening:

I've been super-quiet for the past year mainly due to work taking up all of my spare time. Blah-blah-blah details, life, blah-blah-blah.

I'd originally decided to sell my Seicento but a fellow cento-fan (anyone remember Tricker?) offered up his Van Aaken turbo kit.
Rather than getting money on my pocket I bought his kit. Well, some of it, anyway, i.e. exhaust mani, turbo, downpipe, a few hoses, IC and the inlet bob.
A P75 head w/intake mani, cam and TB is sitting in the garage, needing a good cleanup and a light skim.

Ecumaster DET3 is going to handle fuelling in FIT mode.

MOT's coming up next week and I've strained my left wrist (get your mind out of the gutter - I'm a righty! :p) so I won't be getting any heavy work done before then.

Something I can do, however, is get around to fitting DET3. Most of the wiring harness is already done so I only need to get the cable lengths matched and hooked up. Gotta love the fact that DET3 uses a 20-PIN ATX connector and I had a 450mm extension in a drawer.

If all I need to do, once the MPI head and other stuff is ready, is to bolt it all up, replace a resistor with four injectors it will be quite nice. Besides, it'll give me some time to figure out how DET3 actually works with less risk of blowing up the engine.

DET3 manual quotes 6 Ohms 25W+ but feeding all injector?
Too high resistance value will effect the injectors operation times.

One driver channel Max.
15v/5A =3 Ohms @75 Watts.

Add your injector and you get 4.75 Ohms.
15v/4.75 =3.16A @ 48 Watts.
The 48 Watts is divided across the resistor and injector, so a 25 Watt resistor should be ok.
This is for running Spi.

I would pay attention to the heat the resistor could produce when fitting.

Have you got Det3 fitted :O?

This project was stopped by a lorry backing up, btw:
