Hi since getting this high miler ive changed , cambelt ,water pump, alternator belt , discs pads, general service items , bled the cooling / heating system system . Etc.

One item had still bothered me upto today the graunch on the gear box when the car was worked hard or was hot. Especially going into reverse. I Greased up and adjusted all linkages resulting in greatly improved selection but no change in graunch, adjusted cable was even better and gears now smooth as ive ever had but graunch still there on reverse when car driven for a while and hot. So I drained the gear box and filled it with castrol 80w -90 gear oil. The cars gear box is now as sweet as a nut no graunch at all, the oil I removed was to say the least useless, I guess reason for posting this is if you havent checked yourgear bix oil lately or cant recall when it was last done it maybe worth changing the oil. It makes a huge difference.

very common undone maintenance this, on all cars.. One thing i tend to do everytime i buy a car is drop the box oil and replace it. No idea why its not something people ever have done in the UK Makes a huge difference, even on a car with 40k miles like my suzuki.
