Hello mates, theres a guy in the area tha has an Uno 1.1ies. Should I trade mine for his? I have a yellowcinq sporting.

Resons for the trade would be:

- Cinq:
Engine mounts broken.
Bad shape in terms of paint and body with some rust.
Heating up.
Front suspension knocking.
A crack in the windshield.
Has 222k km.

- Uno:
(Idk) same engines as my sporting?
Is clean in terms of paint and body.
Has 250k km
Has failed in the anual exam we have here in Portugal (Close to MOT) but the guy has done allmost all the things that failled.

So what do you guys think? Any opinions?

Its all up to you ,

Personally , i Would keep the cinq , Spend the money on it as the uno is alot older will be prone to rust starting
parts will be easyer to get for the cinq
Cheaper to run?

what the uno failed its Exam on?
Uno failed cuz of simple things like lights that don't work, tyres with less than 1mm of floor. It has the steering disaligned. Things easy to fix. But idk. In terms of performance, cost of parts, frequency of parts to get changed. I once heard that uno's are much more stable in corners and overall body roll. I'm so confused cuz I know its wrong to go back, I have a newer car, less miles, but in a fairlly bad shape. And since I don't work, I'm a student, I can't even afford parts for my car. My brother's a mechanic, his younger than me, but we do our car jobs together, so working on the car is not a problem. All I want is to have the best base car so, when I start having money, start wasting it in something good.

Oh, and the unos is from 1992 and my cinq is from 1996.

Have you ever had one of those uno's? I want to know if the uno's a better base car for tuning. My plans are either swap engines, turbo or compressor. I want a base car that runs smooth so I can mod it. As I said earlier, my brother and I are mechanics, we like doin stuff on our own. We never needed to contact someone to do things for us, cuz we enjoy learnin more and gettin the job done. My cinq is my first car, and I see a lot of builds included 1.4t-jet swaps, 1.2 16v swaps, and turbos and even dellorto 1108cc. But I kind dislike the bodyroll on the cinq, I think is the major thing I dislike on the car. I love the lines of it, it looks way better than unos. I also yhink they look more "retro" than uno's. But my intentions here are to make power with my car, but not only for straights, I love how a car accelerates but I enjoy even more how a car handles. And everything on the cinq is way fine for me, except the bodyroll. The real question here is, do the uno's handle better than cinq's? Do they have better chasis? Doing swaps are more easier in cinq's or in Uno's?

Ps. - I love your white cinq man, it looks so damm cool. I showed ur car to my gf and she wants me to put the "fake taxi" sticker on ma car cuz my car is yellow and black, and our taxis here are yellow. Keep ur build going, I'm sure if I keep mu cinq, I will end up havin mods done mine close to urs.
It's all down the personal preference drive the uno see if you
Like it and go from there

Well a lot of the body roll on the cinq will go once it's got a decent set of springs and shock on

And cheers dude if you like the white one keep an eye on my yellow 8v turbo that's being to a much higher standard then my white one is

henseyseries3 and the grip is the same?

You have a 8v turbo build too? Omg, that's so good mate, its 1242cc punto75 engine? What are your goals with that? Are you using a aftermarket ecu? If so, what ecu and why? If not, how are controlling yhe boost with the ecu from p75?

Well A Cinq with a good set of tyres and suspension is going to handle well but I cannot say if it's going to out handle an uno with the same mods as tbh I've ever driven an uno

And I haven't even thought about management yet I've been trying to get it back on the road n/a for now

henseyseries3 I'm just takin a guess on it. If it came factory with 1.5 na and 1.3 turbo, while's the cinq has come with only 1.1, the uno should handle better at higher speeds right? @

henseyseries3 was wanting to put a p75 in ma cinq too. Is it too hard? Is the engine much different from an original 1108cc?

I wouldn't do it! Cinqs are better :)
(and no i haven't driven an Uno)
There are hardly any left!

I guess if you were going to spend thousands creating a drag car or something the Uno has a bigger engine bay...

I want a car that's small, light, but stiff and that can handle the power you threw at it.
Idk how to call the part that is missing in cinqs but I think is subframe. The lack of a subframe, something that provides regidity, and is normally under the engine. My brother told me my car is not that safe and don't handle like a newer compact car because it lacks of a subframe, but he says that fiat implemented a very cool thing in cinqs that is independent suspension. The terms I'm using are translated by me, so if u can't understand, I'll try to make it better. So, apart from lowering it, and grab nice tyres, idk, I still think that those cinqs that are track intended have some sort of substructure made to fit cinq, acting like the subframe the car should have been equipped. Any opinions?

purf I was following a thread from a mate witch has a cinq 1.4 t-jet turbo and he has some kind of a subframe. I wonder if does a difference.
