i was just sat in my car listening to the music then all of a sudden it went off, i looked around and the clock wasnt working and the electric windows dont work

after noticing this i turned the engine off thinking a fuse had gone so i had a look but couldnt find any gone, i then tried to start it but the fuel pump didnt prime and only the oil light and the engine management light came on, it turns over but theres no spark

hope someone can help
thanks

the cars at work so ill have to wait till monday to check it

you seem pretty sure about this... has it happened before?

If the supply voltage to the ECU is out of the range it expects, but enough to power it, it'll throw a wobbly!

prolly wont need red key

Right, one time and one time ONLY.

The RED key is ONLY used to initate a PROGRAMMING sequence to program new BLUE keys into the system.

If it starts fine with the existing blue keys, DO NOT attempt to start it with the red key as it'll think youre programming blue keys...and if you don't, it'll probably panic somewhat.

had a look today and there was a red wire coming from a connector that was clipped to the battery tray, anyway the wire had been rubbing on the alternator and eventually it cut through it

connected the wire up and evrything work properly now
