Has anyone successfully changed the dashboard (the large plastic moulding - not just the instrument panel)?
I picked up a black dash from a breaker, and wasn't too worried about cutting wires to get it out. I just tried to swap the grey one in my 900 according to Haynes, but just could not work out how to free it. I removed all the switches, fixings, etc, as described in the manual and the moulding was moving freely, but the cable loom is so inter-woven with the air ducts (fixed to the dash mounding by inaccessible screws) that I could not lift out the dash without damaging either the ducts or the loom. Even freeing all wires from under the dash area would still leave the loom trapping the ducts. Can anyone throw some light on this?
I live in the Netherlands, so it could be that the Haynes book is based on a right-hand drive, and the cable routing is different on a left hooker.
