My 2002 Sei just hit 25k miles.

I'm not sure when it had a cambelt so I'm erring on the side of caution.

Main dealer that looks after my Panda quoted me no more than £500 for full service.

All fluids changed, all filters, plugs, cambelt, tensioners etc, any other belts as needed + new water pump.

DIY isn't an option so what do you reckon?

Thanks,

Simon

If it was me Simon, i would be finding out how much a local indie would charge.
Or buy the parts yourself ( cheap as chips via Ebay ) and have a spanner man fit the stuff.
Cant see it anymore than £150 ish? on parts.

I bought water pump, cambelt, tensioner, spark plugs, head gasket (bought car cheap as head gasket was knackered) and I bought all that for around £100 so prob cheaper to buy bits yourself.

Mmm.

Trusted local quote is quite a lot. Basically everything except the plugs which I did myself.

Any further thoughts then?

Just to update this as looking to do an order from S4P.

The cambelt kit has done less than 2k miles since is was fitted....five years ago.

Erring on the side of caution, I still think it should be changed:confused:

Anyway, are we sure the 1108cc MPi doesn't have a fuel filter?

So, looking at cambelt kit + waterpump, oil filter, oil, paraflu blue coolant.

Need a sump plug washer too? What about fresh gearbox oil?

Cheers,

Simon

Good call, sounds about right

Correct, its in the tank and is not a 'service item'

Air filter?

Gearbox oil change, again, not a bad call. Look at the quantity you get out which will give a step for a hint towards any leaks.

Cheers,

Simon

Been in for service & MOT today. Got the parts from Shop4Parts using the FF Dizzy code. All good except they sent Paraflu UP Red instead of blue. Garage spotted this so used their own blue, thankfully.

Also got sent Selenia K/PE instead of 20k but I guess that's better being fully synthetic.

Aced the MOT. Car is mint underneath. At under 26k miles, I guess this is to be expected:)

Still, 15 years old tomorrow so doing well.

was gonna say for £500 i would drive over from Forest-Of-Dean and do it all for you :ROFLMAO:.

S4P are decent suppliers, especially with the forum discount. Know several people that use red coolant in fire engines this age and not had issues but it is meant to have blue stuff. Just as a random point, most blue (ethylene gylcol based) coolants are good for 2 years whereas most red (OAT based) are good for 5 years. But I discovered genuine suzuki ethylene glycol coolant is extra long life - recently got some for my Ignis. I will prob never leave it in 5 years because OCD car maintenance lol but its good to know you can get long life blue.
