i got a serious question here lads..... well sort of. :p

as u may or may not know, some prick ripped my rear bumper off a week ago and totally buggered the rear bumper / abarth apron.

now i am gettin it fixed, its goin in for a quote this afternoon, so i need advice quick.... and my insurance has already said they will get it returned to the condition it was in before the claim, meaning i get my "body kit" re-fitted.

however, the question is..... as it is only known as "body kit" to the insurance company, should i get a new rear bumper along with a new abarth apron, or do i get a hormann rear bumper, with the idea of fitting a hormann front in the future :chin: (thinkin about goin for a smooth euroish look here)

my excess is £375  so i will be lookin at buying the rear bumper / apron and the cost of that goin towards my excess.

my concern is that as i declared a "full abarth body kit" but my certificate only states "body kit" will gettin a hormann rear bumper be a bit fraud ish? or would the garage / company not have a clue?

dont even think about risking it mase (n) , if they click on that you're trying to pull a fast one on them, they may just tell you to **** off and refuse to pay out :(

thats wat i was thinking.... but if they only have it down as a "body kit" surely they wouldnt need to know it was a different bit of body kit.

or am i bein a bit niave and big brother is always watchin? lol

(off topic minty, i might have a yellow gsr hose on offer soon if u are interested, PM for more details!)

horman wide arch? ;)

seriously get the abarth smoothed like the pick i showed you man, did it not look sweet :D

I wouldn't worry about it, some of my mates have had loads of extra work done before on insurance before because the body shops always charge insurances companies a diff rate from what they charge you, so if its a decent body shop they don't mind doing a few extras for you and charging the insurance for it as you have to pay out anyway to cover excess. My mate even got his full car resprayed when the job was for a wing, bumper and door on a MK3 Golf GTi as they have to quote for new parts from VW so he sourced new pattern parts from EuroParts & gave them to body work place and they did whole car for exactly the quote they gave insuarnce company for one side.

let me know bout hose when its availly dudey (y)

on reflection, if you wanna do it, try it, worth a go, just make sure there is no rear bumper on it when you take it in cus they may see your old one and say "hang on, the hormann one is differnt to your old one!"
