Clicking from the speedo

ok, here's going to be a few of these as it's been 10 years since I've had my last sporting and I couldn't even find the headlight switch tonight

The speedo is clicking (very annoyingly).

Whats the cure? New cable or new head? The needle skips up and down a bit at low speeds....

Jim

Re: Clicking from the speedo

My Sei does it as well. It gets worse with speed. My guess is that it's the connection at the rear of the speedo. A liberal blob of grease should sort it out.

Best way is just snap the cable and use the revs to work out speed.. you can get real good at it aftre a few months

Check that the cable is securely attached to the rear of the instrument housing and that it doesn't go round any sharp corners.

Cheers

Well, out with the grease then tomorrow....

What sort of screws are they in the dash moulding? Allen keys or some weird pozi driver thing?

Re: Clicking from the speedo

3mm allen key. Three along the bottom and one either side of the Clock behind the plastic covers. then 4 screws holding the dash clocks in

Re: Clicking from the speedo

Well he never got at it and it sounds like there's a couple of horses behind the dash. A job for me this weekend.
