I’ve got a V reg Sei Sporting (so spi I think) but I’m wanting to up the power 25-30 bhp. I know the 1108 can be tuned to give this sort of performance but I don’t want to lose low end torque or have a car which needs to be driven at 7000rpm to get the best out of it. So, I’m thinking the only way forward is an engine swap.

The thing I want to know is which swap is easiest? Ideally I want to take the old unit out, put a new one in and off I go. Nothing’s ever as simple as that but you get the idea. I really don’t want to be splicing looms, I’ve done that before and can’t put myself through it again!

I think my choices are a P60 (not sure if there’s enough power gain to make it worthwhile though) a P75 (sounds a pain to fit to an mpi, don’t know if spi is any better?) and then there are the 1.2 & 1.4 16v engines, which then look to cause clearance issues.

Just interested to hear from people that have done these before and where the issues lie. Thanks.

p60 swap with some light mods. (Exhaust, Induction, p75 cam, bigger tb)

You'll have more torque low down than standard and your 20ish bhp more than a standard 1108.

Even just the p60 block is a worthwhile mod IMO. Don't get too caught up in the bhp figures, torque is equally important and that is what the p60 really offers.

Makes any cento a nicer car every day IMO.

That's great, thanks for your replies. Would I need a P60 loom & ECU as well or are the 1.1 parts up to the job?
