Is there definately a difference between the nearside front mount for a cinq sporting and a 899?

I know the part numbers are different but can't see any visible difference from pictures.

The sporting ones are more difficult to get and twice the price but if they are structurally different in any way I will have to bite the bullet.

An alternative and cheaper option, to repair or stiffen this broken mount, would be to purchase some yellow/red polyurethane inserts. These fill the gaps in the rubber, preventing excess movement.

Generally, they are performance oriented, but they work equally well in repairing the mount.

I think this is the right one for the front gearbox mount.

There are some pretty cheap out there. But I'm unsure of the difference.

Cheap alternative is to remove from car, scrape out any loose stuff, scrape off rust, fix so that everything is in line and fill voids with Sikaflex/Tiger Seal.

Which is my recommendation, you can make the things pretty much indestructible if you do it right! :p

Think my front nearside mount weighs 3x the standard weight because it's packed full of sikaflex! :D

I already have those so could put them in a new 899 mount, I have resisted using them as I did have the cambelt side one fitted and it was dreadful.

I need a new mount as the thread is junk in my current one, just seems odd that sporting ones are twice the price and harder to get hold of if there is no difference at all.

Related to this does anyone know if cinqs have the captive nuts in the chassis legs to take a seicento style front gearbox mount? I know they have the holes as I saw those when I last had the car apart but didn't check to see if there were threads in there.

When I swapped 899 to 1242 I used the original mounts. And I have the red inserts in. All is fine. So I can't see a difference, unless the sporting ones are stiffer, but if you tiger seal or use inserts, that kind of solves that.

I doubt that fiat would spend money manufacturing two mounts of the same design with only minor stiffness differences. May just be updated numbers when they started making the 1108.
