Hi, this is my first post, although I've often made use of the wealth of info on here in my DIY efforts to keep our little Cinq going. However I have not been able to find an answer to this question.

At the moment the car does not start - nothing at all happens when the key is turned. The problem seems to be the feed from the ignition switch to the starter, which does not show 12V when the key is turned to the start position.

In order to investigate where the fault is, could somebody tell me the best way to get into the ignition switch wiring and where that starter wire passes through the bulkhead?

Car is a 1996-N Cinq 899.

I've checked the usual things - tested starter motor and checked wiring, renewed one dodgy earth and cleaned up the connections.

Thanks.

Thanks all for the advice. It turned out to be a problem in the ignition switch - the connection between the 12V and starter terminals was not being made when the key was turned to the start position. Then I found I could get it to start by wiggling the connector while turning the key. Lots of spraying with contact cleaner seems to have sorted it, at least for now...
