right i,ve got the exhaust sorted, janspeed manifold, decat pipe, just need the centre/rear box, lowered it 40mm,but i need help on the following
pads/discs(are new standard pads/discs up to the job?)
air filter(is a k&n direct replacement any good?)
strut brace(is it worth having, are they a good fit)
does the throttle body from a punto 60 make a difference, and is it a straight swop?
any other things i should consider, not going mad just a few mods, cheers

right strut brace helps,K&N does a bit.
depends on your budget as to whether you think a GSR/CDA is worth the cash.
a tricker 40mm throttle body is more worthwhile than the 32mm t body.
brakes well thats up to your driving style. can go fro uprated dics pads or a full punto gt upgrade(if you have 14" wheels)

most of the stuff your asking about is well covered in the forum.do a search and you will find plenty of threads

If in perfect condition, yes. Remember also to ensure the brake fluid is water free. If its not been changed in the last two years, do it now.

Yes, better than standard, but a GSR is regarded as much better.

Front brace is simple to fit and improves front end 'bite'. Rear brace makes the handling really scary

Yes, straight swap, improves breathing.

Make sure the basics are right, like the brake fluid, rear brakes, dampers, tyre pressures, bushes etc etc.

cheers

Sorry to hijack, but where are rear strut braces avaliable from?

think you would need to fabricate or mod one from another model.
why would you want to following rallycinqs comments? :p

Id never heard of one that all. Does it go across inside the car? Or underneath?

why are they scary?
Can make the back end of a car very twitchy & nervous and this can be scary as the back end will step out very easily and catch you unawares, not really needed in a FWD car to be honest as there is very little movement at the back anyway, especially in a Cinq as it doesn't even have struts.

Even in my integrale the fitting of a rear brace and diff cradle made the back end sharper but again more twitchy which is fine if you are prepared for some oversteer, but then it has fully adjustable suspension so this can be dialed out with proper camber and castor set up.

Aaron.

ah, ok cheers. My car is kinda twitchy now....

Anyone got one? and want to sell it? :)

Oh I love a litlle remark that gets everyone going.

I have one in mine, but its part of the rear cage. Its not a standard part of the cage, we added it, for extra strength and for somewhere to mount the harnesses.

It does make the car oversteer more, which is fine if balanced by spring and damper rate changes.

Some people have found the cars understeer more if the rear seat are removed. Even though they are not fixed they provide some stiffness to the shell.

The shell of a normal car has to be considered as part of the suspension, so when that flexing is removed, the suspension is fundamentaly(sp) changed.

Cheers
