Probably should have done a search before posting....but just wondered if anyone else has suffered with a sudden loss of power.

With my little 899 found it was running ok then all of a sudden had a huge loss of power. Turns out that there is a type of glass fiber almost woolen stuff in the back box. Somehow the baffles collapsed and the wool clogged up the tail pipe and had caused so much pressure that the back box buckled bowing out.

Got an angle grinder out and opened it up like a tin can, removed the wool and welded it back together, the difference was incredible.

It looks like the hooks on the backbox are bent. Rubber looks ok.

Just check the back box isn't loosing it's shape as well give it a tap and see if you can hear rattling inside. If it's is refer to post 1, if it's just the hook you got two choices remove and replace welding a stronger hook on, or tap back into shape and weld a little bar accross to strenthen it.

Another problem could be those huge tailpipes people fit, the original exhaust wasn't designed to take the weight and after hitting a few large bumps can knock them out of shape. If you have done this just fabricate another clamp near to where the hevier tailpipe is.

Just for curiosity when was it fitted and what gaurantee did it come with, if it's in date take it back.
