Who here regularly does long distance travelling in their Cinq? Preferably an SX

How far, and how often?

I used to travel all over Scotland in my basic 899, regular commuting 30 miles each way, why?

Done a few 400 mile + trips in my Cinq's no problem...

Just curious to see what they can stand up to. I'm thinking into the hundreds of miles

When the rally car broke its suspension, we jumped into the 899, drove to the event, 60 miles away, did a 100 mile navigational rally, then 60 miles back.

Never missed a beat.

used to (and still do in my tipo) do the regular trip from london to stoke on trent which is 150miles each way. cinq never missed beat. it was a sporting though but nevermind

drove one from london to york and back within a day. again, never missed a beat

they are good cars

Charlie 'S' did 1000 miles in a week last year when we took him to Mull.

T'other half lives 75 miles away so he's used to long trips !

I did Bournemouth to Glasgow in turbo Cinq whch is 475miles one way, but i was taveling fairly fast all the way there, but even still it didn't flinch for one second not even on the long steep hills up to Scotland after Carlisle.

No head went in glasgow about 4 days latter, lol! Blooming head gaskets i tells ya!

before that i had it to London and back twice, manchester (where i never dropped below 90mph on motorway, nottingham and Southampton many times no faults.

Since i repaired the head i did the Milton Keynes-Bournemouth drive 150miles each way about 8 times sitting at steady 3figure speeds no worries.

Who would of thought an 899cc could go so fast!

I used my old 899cc cinq for trips to York from Wiltshire (250 miles one way) every few months or so. Ran beautifully at 75mph, never missed a beat. I do know it blew its head gasket just after i sold it but it was at 68k miles so to be expected really.

i rergularly drive up to and including 150 miles for leisure

and i find that my car can tolerate it just fine

and its comfy

that is if you wear the right shoes and know where all your cd's are

my car runs and runs and runs and still manages long distances and its on

a gobsmacking

89,000 miles

new engine is going in soon so thats going to help it out a little bit
