Hi all.

I was just wondering how you adjust the rear brake shoes. i fitted a new hand brake cable. i put it on the 3rd click like it said to do. and i have adjusted to the max and i still doesn't work. :bang:

what could it be. i like it the rear shoes out of adjustment. please help as i have my m.o.t to friday and don't want it to fail. :yuck:

I.m sure there's plenty about this to be searched for, but its usually the actuators in the drum that have seized.

What are the actuators. my boyfriend gone away and he fix's the car :bang:

They are the parts that the cable attaches to. They are inside the drums so firstly remove the drums, and don't wait for your boyfriend to come home, just do it yourself.

And how much do they cost to replace???

Yes, and no, the shoes need to be released, but not fully removed. I think the actuators are only a couple of pounds a side, not too expensive.

The metal (brass) arms D? theyre about £18 for the set IIRC!

They must have shot up in price, I paid under 3 quid a side a couple of years ago.
