does it need a top up of windscreen wash???
i fail to see how topping up the screen wash would work considering water does come out but at the front and rear, thats why its a feeble effort :)

the fault is when i try to spray my front windscreen the back also gets sprayed at the same time and i dont get the full force needed to spray the front as it seems to be shared between the front and back (hope i explained it better then)

I would suspect either a dodgy switch, or, more likely a faulty earth on the motors. Check the earthing point is free from corrosion - it's on the top of the inner wing in between the offside headlight and the expansion tank.

After that you'll have to check the terminals on the motors. You'll have to take the offside front wheel off and then reemove the wheelarch liner to get at them.

Clean the terminals on the motors first with some emery cloth or a fibreglass pen, then do the connectors. These are nigh-on impossible to do. You could try soaking them in some coke (thin as it's less sticky preferably) for a few hours, or some brick cleaning acid for a few minutes. Make sure you disconnect the battery first.

That's better, sounds like the previous owner has wired the two jets to one motor as one of the two has obviously died somewhere along the way, now, you could find where the join is but it's likely under the plastic arch in the drivers side but have a nosey around the engine bay too.

With the two feeds being fed by one motor the pressure won't nearly be enough like you say so returning the front to it's own motor and getting a new motor for the rear and sorting out the tubing will see you ok.

Your vehicle only has one washer motor, the motor is faulty.

The system works by spinning the motor in opposite directions for front and rear wash. When you get water coming out of both front and rear it is due to the valve failing inside the motor. Only option is to replace it.

From what i've seen, you are totally wrong there. There are two motors on a cinq/sei - one for front and rear.

It sounds like it has been bodged in the past.

I am a Fiat DET. The vehicle is a Seicento. Two types of bottles fitted. One with two pumps, the other with one. The one with only one pump works in exactly the way I have stated, and its the only option that will do what the gentleman describes.

If you wish I can email you wiring diagrams, explanations, specifications. Alternatively I could show you on the two vehicles I have diagnosed and repaired today.

Thankyou for your opinion.

Consider yourself the wrong man, in the wrong place at the end of a very trying day. :D

Dont know if its the heat that is causing them to fail but we seem to be having a run of them, last time I heard they were back ordered so maybe Fiat are bringing out an improved version. Lets hope so. (y)

no worries :)

I've never worked on a Mk2 Sei, is the washer tank still above the radiator without any kind of shielding like on the mk1 and the cinq? Even on them cars, the heat was a problem for the rubber hoses at least!

Same position behind the bumper and in front of the osf wheel. Remove the wheel arch liner for access.

ok im gunna attempt to try some of what you have said not all of it cause that will just confuse the matter lol ill let you know how i get on, although it will be after my "jols" so patience helpers lol

I think you will find that this little problem is all to do with a little rubber plunger inside a small valve enclosure (black and white, stuck under the moter). Remove the plunger and you might be rewarded with 2 good working washers.
