the front and rear indicator bulbs on the cinq sporting are the same, are they not?

So howcome when i fitted LEDs in their place did the front ones not work? i ordered 4 identical LEDs which are direct replacements for the standard bulbs but they wouldn't work in the front
The rears work fine... i don't understand

anyone got an idea?

call me daft but the polarity might be wrong on the bulb holder, bit of a long shot.

LED's will only work if the polarity is correct, unlike normal bulbs.

You may find that when using the indicator with LED bulbs fitted, that the indicator will flash twice as fast. If this happens, it's because LED's are a low power consumption item and the indicator relay may think there's a bulb blown causing the faster flash. In which case, use proper bulbs instead.

Hope that might help

LEDs are better than normal stylé bulbs. Mainly because they come on and go off instantly. Looks so much cleaner!

annnyway, as rich has said - they need to be fitted the right way round. I can't remeber if the cinq uses lights with the offset pins or not. If it does, and the only fit in one way round then you're going to have to switch the wires around as they go into the indicator.

Also, about them flashing really quick.. yeah - that probably will happen. You need load resistors to stop that from happening.

the reason why the leds flash faster is because they have a lower impedance than a normal bulb. the rear doesnt have offset pins so if you try the bulbsin the rear you will tell if its the bulbs which are faulty. the fron arent offset either try the bulb in both ways .i.e 180o i did this once with led bulbs and they would work one way but not the other. not sure why thought cause they only had one contact.

Uno_94 sells resistors :D

If you've already connected your LEDs up with out the required resistors then you've probably blown them.

Hope you get it sorted.
