righty, im trying to ignore the fact that i may need a new clutch or gearbox for the minute and trying other things!!!

my prob is its hard to get it into gear when shifting down at speed!

im gonna flush the gearbox with engine flush (will this be ok??) and use new semi oil.

then im gonna fit new clutch cable.

and clean eveything possible up, linkages etc and grease em up.

but anyway, im waffling, the real question ive got is, ive heard other ppl do it, but is it ok to use normal engine flush to clean out the gearbox before putting fresh oil in???

I've never heard of flushing a gearbox because when doing the same on an engine you let it run for a while then drain out the oil and flush.

I am willing to be corrected though!

Just drain it and refill.
The problem you have has nothing to do with the liquid itself.

As he says.

There is no pump in the gearbox. to make sure all the oil gets out, do it with the gearbag hot.
