does anyone know exactly where the main controll box is for the central locking on a cinq and what EXACTLY it looks like?

i am tryin to wire up remote central locking and am guessing it has to be wired in before this box as wiring in it after the box did sweet FA.

but not only do i not know exactly wat it looks like i dont know where it is, and dont want to wire into somethin else and proper f**k things up.

a pic of it would be awesome! (y)

Hi dude the remote central locking control box is under the passenger side dash its a small black relay bout the size of a fag packet its the same thing u sold me off your old red cinq when i thought my central locking was ****ed but turned out was just the bar from the door pin to the actuator needed straightening ;)
if ya wiring up CL for an alarm u dont need to touch the control box there should be 2 wires from ya alarm that go straight to blue/white (i think) wires in your drivers side door to send the signal to lock/unlock the doors if i was at home id send u a cinq alarm wiring diagram but if u need it ask around matey

good luck getting it sorted mate

i already tried wiring the wires and it didnt do a thing.... so i was thinkin i need to wire it in before the controll box rather than after it????

i already tried that!!!

where the wiring comes from the door there is a big white plug under the drivers side of the dash by the bonnet release plug i disconnect that and was workin on the side that came from under the dash, not the side that goes to the door!

i cut the unlock wire, connected it to a female connector, then stripped the alarm unlock wire, connected that and the other end of the door unlock wire to a male connector and connected them together!

then did the exact same for the lock wires, plugged it all back in.... armed the alarm, and it did sweet FA to the door locks! dissarmed it again, and it still did sweet FA!!!

AHHHHHHH

its prob worth you redoing the wiring connecting to the lock/unlock wires in your drivers door because thats what i did and it works a treat and if your any good with a soldering iron id suggest soldering all your connections cus thats what i did and at least u know theres got to be a good connection and its not gonna come undone

just incase i checked my wiring diagram and its blue/white for lock and white/red for unlock

good luck with it pal

i thought jamie had already tested it, but i will do it again tomorrow mornin prob.

does the way i am wiring it in sound right tho? should that of worked if all is set up properly?

Alex- Yeah they got checked a few times definately a 12v pulse coming from them...

hardcore spin out happening!

tryin to figure out weather the alarm is set for + or -

destructions read as follows:

crap clifford instructions said:
2. Connect the negative voltmeter lead to ground and probe each wire while locking/unlocking. If the voltmeter show +12v while activating the switch, make the connections shown in Door Lock/Unlock Diagram 1 for positive trigger. Otherwise, go to step 3.

3. Repeat step 2 with the negative voltmeter lead connected to +12v. If the voltmeter shows +12v whi e activating the switch, make the connections shown in Door Lock/Unlock Diagram 2 for negative trigger.

jamie said he stuck a multi meter on the lock wire comin from the alarm and it gave a 12v pluse, but is that pulse set for a + system or a -????

i think that bit is for finding out if the car is postive or negative pulse. its negative pulse. so it needs to be wired up as a negative pulse alarm. i think my toad alarm had different wires for the postive or negative pulse

ahhh right... well this one has to be adjusted when installed, which is impossible for me as i dont have the software!

so basically if i connect the negative lead on the multmeter to a gound connection, then c if i can get a current from the lock / unlock wires then it is set up for a positive system and will never work unless i can get someone to adjust it?

yeah!

edit.. there maybe a way of hardware converting it using relays.. but without knowing the insides of the alarm i couldn't say for sure if it'd be safe to try
