Installing a multijet diesel?

Totally theoretical just interested in can it be done for the sake of it but considering the doblo/new panda takes 1.1 and 1.2 fire engines wouldn't the mounts for a the 1.3 multijet diesel be the same? In that respect, would it fit a cinquecento shell?

Interesting this new multijet, though a diesel seems to have a lot going for it, a diesel yet 70bhp, 10 more than a popular 1.2 8v, lots more torque and 20 more average mpg and is chippable to 100bhp for 150-200 quid.
To get 100hp from the 1.2 is turbo territory and 1.5 grand+
Never been a fan of diesels until recently when they've looked interesting, shame as the new pandas look so dull.

Diesel has gone up in price! hehe!! well it has down here anyway.. the government suddenly relise that they can rip people off even more!! - yes diesel is cheaper to produce seeing as it dosn't have as many processes to go through as petrol.. - WNSHFKERS! lol.. Yeap the spec of that engine sounds good.. Hopfully sum1 will try it soon..

Yeah its just a theory at present. I'm sure you can get hold of a multijet diesel and chip it to 100bhp for less than the cost of fitting a van aaken turbo. The main issue I guess would be the loom and wiring.

Is that a 'Yes, I've looked at it and it's the same', or a 'Yes, in theory it should fit'?

An 899cc Sei is very different to a 1.1, so there is no reason why a Diesel Panda could be very different to a Petrol Panda. With a Diesel there is probably a lot of work. The whole ignition system isn't needed, and will need to be replaced with glow plugs, the fuel tank will need to be drained, you'll need a new Zorst system... The Diesel is also likely to be heavier, which will reduce the gain in performance, and could effect the handling.

Personally I don't like Diesels, they smell etc. 899cc -> diesel sounds interesting though. It'll double my bhp!

Isn't the multijet a turbo anyway? Theres no way you would get 70bhp out of a 1.3 N/A diesel engine.

It was a 'yes, but it will be loads of work, but then any engine can be made to fit with loads of work' kinda of answer.

Cheers
