Right, I'm after a bit more performance out of my cinq and I dont want a turbo. Being only 17 Mr. Norwich Union would make my wallet too light.

Currently, I have a Sportex back box, K&N (inc. air ram), ECU chip, new center section exhaust, decent engine oil, decent spark plugs and HT leads.

Any other suggestion? I read somewhere about a larger throttle body, what effect would this have? How could I get hold of one?

Cheers in advance people,

Fred

have you tried getting a quote with the mods you already have?? the best i've had so far is £1250 and thats for a standard cinq sporting!

what company is that with?
your age, type of cover? and is it under your own name?
having trouble finding a good quote!

norwich union, 17 nearly 18 have pass pluss. In my own name.

best give them a try i think (y) cheers.
someone will be along to help you soon, search for a guy on here called 'tricker' pretty sure he does 40mm tb's, what i've read anyway :p

All dependant on budget really, could go manifold/decat route, or throttlebody would be a good next step, 40mm throttle bodies seem to get very very good feedback if you can stretch to the price, alternatively a punto 60tb (32mm iirc) is a worthwhile investment

Cheers,
Alex

please excuse my ignorance but am i right in thinking that a throttle body just puts more fuel in? And what is a punto 60tb (32mm iirc)? Sorry...

Fred

ah right, i understand a little more after reading the chaps from denmarks post. Where about is my throttle body located in the engine bay?

Also if i fit one of the punto ones will it make a difference?

to my knowledge its standard...

i am changing to tescos soon. My car is off the road at the mo, so its not important.

...ooo - watch out mate, it all tends to kick off in this place when someone mentions dodgy insurance :p jks...

And just to let you know - N.U. are utter ****e, they may be cheap but in terms of service you get what you paid for! Especially if you have to make a claim.

Being a young'un myself I'd say try CIS - or when you are 19 HIC for good quotes.

Regards,
Matt

PS: CIS will cover some mods too ;)

We just like to keep things legal around here (y)

Hi fredjudd

It is me who does the 40mm throttle bodies.

I can se that you have been advised to buy a 38mm Punto TB - be careful cause the 38m Punto TB is not a straight fit.
You will have to make a new spacer (a piece of plastic/metal sitting between the TB and inlet manifold) before you can use the 38mm Punto TB.
If you use the original 38mm Punto spacer the induction will be too high and you will not be able to close up the bonnet.

See this topic to get a clue of what I'm talking about
Punto 75 Throttle Body

Ok, thanks Tricker. Will there be a problem if I get you mod a Cinq TB? In terms of clearence?

Also would you be able to list the mods to you Cinq in order to get 95 hp? Cheers,

Fred
