Hello I have a 95 P reg cinquecento 900cc car which has done 45k miles, while driving the car the brake pedal started to travel to the floor and braking was very poor and almost to the point of no brakes at all. I drove the car for about 2 miles stopped and then the brakes seemed to work as normal I also noticed the brake fluid resovoir was low but no signs of leaking, can anyone tell me if this is a common fault and what I can do to fix the problem.
Cheers

Id say the odds are somethings leaking....

A> Fill up the system and check it out again...cos if its low the brake efficiency may be affected (I dont know for sure, unless air's getting in).

B> Get someone to pump the pedal with the system sealed up (eg: res'r cap on) and go around the car looking behind each wheel looking for leaks.

It is possible that you have a sticking caliper that overheated the pad with heat transfer back to the fluid, which has boiled. If you don't know the history of the car, or haven't had the fluid changed in the last 2 years, get it changed now, and check for uneven pad wera when you're in there.

Cheers
