Progress thread to let you know how i get on making some pods for the rear of my sei. Currently got flat MDF panels with 6x9s in them... they rattle like hell and i made them in 30 mins and tacked on some carpet..

SOO..
Got two large sheets of mdf,
Fibreglass,
Bodyfiller,
Primer.. and
Citroen Poeisden blue paint,

And i got 2 pair of 6x9s.. (dont ask how i got that many...) which i plan to mount at angle in the wood.. and weight down the back half, and sit it flush into the rear quarters!

Plan commences on Saturday..

Must nick some breathing masks from work lol

Im on this 2 digi.... got the mdf already cut out and the carpeting and the infinity speakers....just need to get my ass into gear and finish them...

Im the one with the tat mobile...cheap and nasty is my first, middle and last name.

i did this
6mm MDF
carpetted in red
digimods to stop it rattling, I drilled the crappy little white plastic plugs, and put wall plugs in each one, drilled holes in the wood, and screwed it all on nice and tight.

Yea.. good idea that! I've got the same set up as you have already by the sounds of it..

Cant wait to get started tomorrow.. Gonna incorporate an armrest into the tilting out speakers...

OK.. started at 8am.. its now 3-30... [8)]

Heres some moulding for the fibreglass, using boiler insulation tape:



And this is after sanding down the fibreglass (itchy arms [V]):



Skim of bodyfiller is drying now!

looks good so far
although its gunna be very tight getting rond the fuel filler on the drivers side.
but im sure itll come out great

They go in just fine! i was extremely nervous didnt think it would!

Only problem I have is the back half of the rear 6x9 hitting the seats.. but the seat "gives" enough to hold the panel in place.

Gonna be a nightmare smoothing it all out

looks quality mate. how difficult is it to get hold of and use fibre glass? (duh!)

Fibreglass was from halfords. £8.99 for small tin!

Its a hell of a bastard to work with.. drags as you spread it, and proper gloves and face masks should be used.. and it gives a finish like pigeon shi t.. as the pictures above show. I'm in the process of using fine bodyfiller to finnish off the smoothness (the green paste in the above pics). This has to be sanded and reapplied many times.

looks really good mate. Hope you dont wanna drop you back seats very often or that back speaker could be a problem hehe. if your like me tho, the boot is full of ICE anyway, so the backseat has become my boot.

cant wait to see it all finished.

Never carry anything in my car so I should be ok for the time been! heh

The bottom half under the arm rest is gonna be carpeted (identical to the fiat carpet on the arch. And the top half is to be primered and sprayed Citroen Blue.. (as like 70% of the saxos are coloured)

5 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint.. another 2 it should be ok.. Onto carpetting it next.. then I have to finnsh the other one [}]
