Hello guys,is it possible to bore out a Seicento 1.1 MPI Throttle Body???
I saw one guy that has done it in the forum...but not 100% sure.

Any ideas???

I need to get this done quickly...

It's probably possible. Whether it's worthwhile on a standard car is a bigger question.

It's not a standar car...It is a higly tuned 1.2 8V Punto 75 engine that uses my stock inlet manifold and throttle body from my Sei Mpi 1.1 engine..all working like a charm on stock Mpi Marelli Ecu(Yes we did it and works like a charm). The car has reprofiled cam, custom adjustable vernier pulley with knock sensor,4-2-1 headers, ported and polished head...rebuild engine...etc.

I need to know asap if we can get the Stock Mpi 1.1 Throttle Body Bigger...because 35/36mm is not enough for the Tuned 1.2 8V engine.
Any photos or help would be much appreciated.

Yes it looks possible, I have been looking at boring out the MPI TB's to 40mm (as I can mod the SPI to 40mm), so far I have got a MPI one apart, next job to make jigs to hold the TB and butterfly.

A 39mm would be good as a direct fit which should give an easy 15Bhp potential before cams and many Punto owners would be interested also.
I will take a 39 and 40 to compare on both my cars.

The 1.2 16V Throttle Body is 42mm and the inlet manifold is max 39mm...this is going to be a problem i guess....

Not really. That's why you use an adaptor plate. The plastic body of the inlet mani is easy enough to enlarge. No real reason why you couldn't cut the flange off 16v inlet maifold and bond that on. A little porting, et viola!

This is what I needed to hear, mine will be a standard P75 1.2 on the normal mpi ecu with a bored out (probably GSR) 40mm mpi seicento throttle body :slayer:

Only photo I have of mine on my computer... I believe it is simply bored out with a bigger butterfly, not sleeved or anything...

Yes I could make them for others, I have to do the one I've got first.
Looking at the photo from Cento186, it looks like the butterfly is red one side and silver the other, then there are the two round bumps next to the spindle(rivets/ ends of screws?), so not sure how this was done.
I'll see if I can do some more on it at the weekend.

That's just a reflection of my red bonnet :p It appears to be one piece, everything is silver and those little bumps don't relate to anything on the other side...

I don't have any other photos of it that I can find but I might be able to pop it off at the weekend and get some pictures if that would help?

Guys,as no one have any of these TBs up for sale,i only have 2 options.

- First one is someone to make a 40mm TB for me and sell it to me

and

-Second one is that we will try boring out mine but in order to do that,we need precise instructions which will help us avoid damaging the TB.We need instructions like how to disassemble(and then re-assemble) the TB so that we can bore it out,and i am asking for help because this TB is "fix" and nothing can be replaced,so if we do something wrong...the whole TB goes to trash.

Help would be so much appreciated.
