Hi
On my way home I pulled up to some traffic lights, stopped and the car just stalled by itself it started again so I when I got home, scanned the ecu and got a code back saying fuel trim malfunction bank 1
any ideas, thanks Alex

Also eml came on when the car stalled then went straight off when i started it again
just a few weeks ago it had a full service with some fuel injector cleaner put in the car aswell as throttle boddy cleaner
also found a bolt thingy near throttle boddy should it have a hose or something on it (should be a pic of it)
also car is 2001 mpi sporting
Thanks

Post the code, not the "translation". You can look up the code by just popping it into Google with obd following it.

There should be a rubber dust cap on that valve, but that's not going to cause an issue.

I'd avoid any cleaner you put in the tank. Generally, it's a waste of time/money.

Clear the code, see if it re-occurs.

ECU is trying to adjust the amount of fuel injected, but has reached its limit, either rich or weak. The trimming is a result of the lambda sensor readings. Faulty or failing lambda sensor, or an air leak in the intake are likely causes. Most likely is the lambda sensor.

You might try swapping the lambdas round (you have two -- one before the manicat, near the cylinder head, one after) -- you need to remove each lambda, disconnect its connector, and plug into the other one's plug. The first one does the "real" work, the second pretty much just checks that the first is working. After each change, clear the codes. Re-read when (if) the EML light comes on again.

ok, cleared ecu, no code any more filled up with fuel this morning and itmran fine ever since no stalling so im not sure if its an intermitent fault or lack of fuel
also has anyone got a picture of the vacum pipes i should be looking for on the throttlebody
thanks

Hi
it hasnt done it anymore, the first time it stalled itself there was no code this time there was but both times the low fuel light has come on not long after and ran fine once it had some fuel in it, just wondered if this helps
thanks AJ

Im having same problame chuged out i recently replaced plugs and number 1 was wuite oily so this indicates slightly leaky rocker cover for me and i havnt replaced yet and now and then i get a chugger i havent checked the new plugs but im going to investigate

Fingers, they were just on threds old plugs looked almost rusted going to fix leaky rocker do you think that is the caulse of my chugger from time to time

Leads usually give more problems than plugs. I'd think that that's the likeliest cause of a misfire. Rocker covers just leak. The trick is to thoroughly clean both surfaces with a decent solvent (acetone, panel wipe, ether, petrol at a pinch), use a little gasket goo with a new gasket and don't overtighten the bolts. Best bet is just finger tight, wait for the goo to go off, nip up 1/4 turn or so.

Well iv had new leads plugs filters oil and new battry but im sure it happaning because of leak from rocker? Im just not sure wud never have this prob on a bike! Lol
