The front left indicator on my seic sporting isnt working. I just checked the fuse (3/4/5/6) for the lights. Looks fine. Its odd, only the front left isnt working. I changed the bulb, but the old was wasnt blown either. And the contacts didnt look corroded.

What could it be?

Is the left & right bulb holder interchangeable? so i can use the good right one to check the left

Is the bulb holder, try switching the left to right as a test! They go all the time, i had to replace a few of them :(.

Funnily enough this exact same thing happened to me last night. I remembered that at last MOT the tester said that I probably had an earth problem with my NSR lights in that when the indicator bulb was lit the rear light would dim very slightly. Not an advisory but just a tip off.
I just checked my indicators with the lights off and it works but with the lights on it doesn't but the light does dim quite a bit.
So I'm pretty sure that mine is an earth problem and I suspect, as Mr Fingers has already said, that your problem is also earth related.
Test your indicators both with the car lights off and on and see if there is a difference.

OK. I found my fault. To help others I shall write what was wrong with my car, please note others have had an earthing issue with the same symptoms.

My problem was poor connection from the bulb holder. I diagnosed and isolated the problem by removing the front indicator (there's a spring clip behind the unit) I loosened the 2 headlight bolts to imprive access.

I took apart the bulb housin, turned on the engine and held the positive and negative wires against the bulbs positive and negative terminals (the bulb on its own, not in its plastic housing/holder) the bulb worked. So the problem must have been the bulb holders connectors, I'm using a corrosive liquid to try and clean the connectors as I can not get at them with an abrasive (brush etc) at the very worst, if thus doesn't work. I could always solder the wires to the bulb to pass the mot.

Glad you got sorted. I wouldn't solder to the bulb as it will be a pig to get off when you need to change it next.

This is what my problem was: (See pics).

After 5 mins with some wet and dry I'm back to full strength again. I checked the other side and that was fine. The rust is probably a legacy of having rear light housings full of water for a couple of years. Drilled some holes in the bottoms eventually so they stay dry now but this has probably been building up for a couple of years.

alternatively you can buy a new side light and it has a new bulb holder in it !

Just had a quick glance on ebay, i can;t see any. I am sure the polish sites for cento parts have them !

The front indicator can not be sanded down with an abrasive as they are fixed in the bulb housing.

I used coca cola for 2 hrs (no joke) and pressure washed the bulb housing after. (NOT THE ELECTRICAL WIRE) Came out clean and worked perfectly. Nearly free fix (if you drink the rusty coke after)

Do you know if that includes the bulb holder? Also does the cinq and sei share the same buld holdeR?

That's interesting about cola !! Need to try it , i always just replace it !

No idea if it has a holder or not but according to the above poster they come with one, lol.
I'm sure they'd (seller) tell you if you ask. If it does then they're a very good deal I think.

There are some great deals on their ebay page actually. If you go into their Other Items and search Seicento there's lots of stuff. Head bolts £9, ignition leads £8, door mirrors £15, radiators £31, CV boot £6 inc nut. Etc.
